Minimum Requirements
Qualification(s):
• T3/S4/N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (LC), or Equivalent
• Registerable as an Engineering Technician with ECSA
Experience
• 1 year job related experience in Telecommunication
Skills and Competencies
• Ability to adapt to a high rate of change of technology employed
• Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of Telecommunication technologies, networks and equipment
• Analytical skills to analyse faults, interpret test results and provide optimum solutions
• Innovative
• Ability to integrate effectively with other specialist disciplines
• Be responsible and able to operate with minimum supervision
• Demonstrate good inter-personal relations
• Process a valid driver licence (Code 08)
• Be medically fit to fulfil the Construction Regulations pertaining to the climbing of structures where applicable
Key Responsibilities
• Provides an installation, commissioning and maintenance service on all telecommunications related equipment
• Ensure conformance to safety, health, environmental and quality standards by ensuring that all records are updated and available
• Responsible for site management for allocated sites by performing Environmental Management System (EMS) audits
• Acts as a coach and mentors newly appointed Telecommunications staff and trainees
