OSD Implementation for Correctional Services remains a challenge for our members
The Police and Prison Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) has raised concerns with the employer in relation with implementation of the Occupational Specific Dispensation (OSD) for Correctional Service Artisans. POPCRU declared a dispute after the employer arbitrarily decided to translate them to the OSD for Artisans when they have been appointed as Correctional Officials.
We have numerous members being arbitrarily translated and the employer has issued our members with letters indicating that they were erroneously translated and they need to pay back the monies that were paid to them. We view this as a clear indication of incapacity on the part of the employer.
POPCRU has called its members to challenge this state of affairs through the provision of the Grievance Procedures of the Department and ensure that we consolidate our hegemony our department. We will remain resolute on our stance to ensure that members are not compromised.
