DPSA Transport Policy

DPSA Transport Policy

DPSA Transport Policy; Read the Department of Public Service and Administration transport policy and the policy on allocation of vehicles.
1.1 The provision of subsidized vehicle to an officer is deemed a work facility that enables him/her to undertake essential and approved official journeys in those cases where the use of other available transport is neither practical nor economical.
1.2 The concession to qualifying officers to participate in the subsidized Motor Transport Scheme is not a service benefit but a work facility that cannot be construed as a right. According to the National Transport Policy it is the prerogative of each provincial department to develop a policy on departmental subsidized Motor Transport for the purpose of allocation and financial control, which does not digress from the National Policy.
1.3 An official may be allocated any motor vehicle under National Contract RT77, provided if is identified as a subsidized vehicle.
