They offer young, talented individuals the opportunity to enter the mining industry as learners, via their Exxaro Learnerships program. They aim at expanding, and becoming a ‘mine of the future’, with great development in the industry. They also promote ‘sustainable engineering’ and ‘zero waste emissions’.
They concentrate on mining in Coal, Base Metals, Ferro-alloys, Mineral Sands and Iron. Exxaro has mining operations all over the world with the Africa continent operation being the largest, then their Asia and Australia concerns. Exxaro Learnerships Requirements
Each of the learnerships provided by the company has its own requirements.
To apply for their learnership in Engineering candidate require the following:
- Grade 12 education with E or higher for English and Mathematics
- Must have a driver’s license
- Possess a South African ID
- Technical Grade 12 – All subjects on E or higher – English, Science, Mathematics, Trade Theory & Technical Drawing
- N2 Qualification – English, Engineering Drawing, Mathematics & Engineering Science
- N2 Plater – English, Mathematics, Engineering Science/Engineering Drawing & Structural Drawing With relevant trade theory
- N3 – Electrical Trade
- NVC 4 – All subjects E or higher
To apply for their learnership in Engineering candidate require the following:
- Grade 12 education with E or higher for English and Mathematics
- Must have a driver’s license
- Possess a South African ID
You also need to be a South Africa citizen and will need to pass a medical examination (done at Exxaro), as well as a psychometric evaluation. Candidates on the shortlist will be contacted for an interview, they may also be asked to partake in a competency evaluation. For qualification, candidates must pass all requirements and tests, yet, this does not automatically qualify a candidate for a learnership. Exxaro still has the right to select candidates from the candidates who make it to the interview process.
Candidates who do get selected to join the company’s learnership program must be committed to all Company Rules & Regulations. They must also be willing to take responsibility for their own performance within the learning program.
Exxaro Learnerships Application
Learnerships online applications process are only made available once the company opens their applications. Additionally, candidates interested can inquire at their Campus Career Centers or find out from one of the Exxaro offices about any open learnerships available. Once you have completed the form you can hand them into an Exxaro representative or e-mail them using their website or deliver it to one of the Exxaro business offices.
Exxaro Learnerships Closing Date
Check their website for new for learnership applications. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, candidates who have not heard from the company within 21 days, after closing dates, are asked to consider their applications as unsuccessful.
