The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) in South Africa provides an online portal for registration. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to register with PSiRA:

  1. Visit the PSiRA Registration Portal.
  2. Click on “No – Register Now” to start the registration process.
  3. Fill in the required details, including your first name and South African ID number.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete your registration.

Please note that any natural person applying for registration may be registered as a security service provider if the applicant is a fit and proper person to render a security service.

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) was established in terms of Section 2 of the Private Security Industry Regulation Act (56 of 2001) in 2002. The primary objectives of PSiRA are to regulate the private security industry and to exercise effective control over the practice of the occupation of security service provider in the public and national interest and in the interest of the private security industry itself.

3. How can I obtain the PSiRA individual registration form without going to a Psira branch?
You can simply go on to the Psira website on www.psira.co.za , go to publications, scroll down to downloads, choose option for the registration form and select the one you require.

4. How would I know when my Psira application has been approved?
You can contact our customer care line on 086 133 3850 with your ID number handy to check the status of your application.
