SARS App

The SARS eFiling App is an innovation from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) that appeals to the new generation of mobile taxpayers. One can use the mobile channel from which you can complete and submit your Income Tax Return (ITR12). 

You may also use the app for the following:

  • Register for eFiling
  • Reset your username and password
  • Maintain and update your registered details
  • File your return
  • Upload and submit supporting documents
  • Make a payment to SARS
  • Set up a Call Back from the SARS Contact Centre
  • View a Notice of Assessment
  • Request and view the Income Tax Statement of Account
  • View the status of the return
  • Use the tax calculator
  • Saved ITR12 returns are auto-refreshed
  • The Branch Locator shows the estimated waiting queue time
  • Activation of the Income Tax Return (ITR12) via the SARS MobiApp
  • Tax Practitioners can access the SARS MobiApp for the completion and submission of their Income Tax clients and their Income Tax products where they have full access rights; and
  • Taxpayers can request their Statement of Account (SOA) or their eNotice of Registration (IT150) via the SARS MobiApp.

How do I download the SARS eFiling App?

For Apple devices, the following steps must be followed to download the SARS eFiling App from the App Store:

  • Open the APP store by tapping on the App Store icon on the springboard.
  • Enter “SARS eFiling” into the Search box.
  • Tap on the SARS eFiling App search result.
  • Tap on FREE.
  • Tap on INSTALL APP.
  • Enter your Apple ID Password and tap OK.
  • The App will start loading and install on your mobile device.
  • The SARS eFiling App will be displayed on your springboard

For Android devices, you can install the SARS eFiling App from Google Play Store:

  • Open the Play Store by tapping the Play Store tile on your device springboard.
  • Sign into the Play Store using your Google Account
  • Type “SARS eFiling” into the Search box
  • The SARS eFiling App icon will now appear in the search results
  • Tap on FREE to start installing the app
  • Tap on Install to continue
  • Tap on Accept and Download
  • Once the app is successfully installed you will be able to open it.
  • You will also be able to access the app from your springboard by tapping on the SARS eFiling icon.

Please note that the eFiling app is currently not available for BlackBerry users specifically on OS 10.2. BlackBerry is looking into finding a solution.
