ABOUT THE BURSAR
Established in 1984, the Cape Town-based company is one of South Africa’s top civil engineering companies, with more than 30 years in the industry. Haw & Inglis pride themselves in road and highway construction and have been at the forefront of the country’s infrastructure development.
ABOUT THE BURSARY
The bursary will be awarded to students who are currently studying (or intend on studying) towards an undergraduate qualification, within one of the following fields:
- Building
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
*Applicants must be studying/ intend on studying at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
H&I will award bursaries based on academic merit and whether applicants meet University/ University of Technology requirements.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria before applying:
- Matric/ Grade 12 students: minimum “C” symbol or 60% in Physical Science and Mathematics.
- University students: strong academic record with 100% pass rate in all subjects.
- Interest in working within the building construction & civil field,
- Enjoy the outdoors,
- Willing to work in rural areas,
- Strong leadership and communication skills.

The following documents must be included with your complete application form:
School students:
- ID Document (certified copy),
- ID Photo (to be attached to the application form),
- Learners / Drivers license (certified copy),
- Grade 11 end of year results,
- Grade 12 June & September results,
- Grade 12 end of year results (if available).
University / University of Technology students:
- ID Document (certified copy),
- ID Photo (to be attached to the application form),
- Learners / Drivers license (certified copy),
- Full academic results for duration of study.
