What is Kuyasa learnership?

Kuyasa Learnership is a program initiated by the BANKSETA (Banking Sector Education and Training Authority) in South Africa to provide unemployed young people with an opportunity to gain practical work experience and theoretical training in the banking and financial sector.

The program aims to help participants gain relevant skills and knowledge that will enhance their employability and increase their chances of finding employment in the banking and financial sector. It is designed to address the skills gap in the industry and provide opportunities for previously disadvantaged individuals.

The Kuyasa Learnership program runs for a period of 12 months and combines classroom-based training with practical on-the-job experience at participating banks and financial institutions. Participants receive a monthly stipend and are provided with support and guidance throughout the program.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35, have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, and be unemployed. Successful applicants are selected through a rigorous selection process that includes assessments, interviews, and background checks.
