What is an INSETA learnership?

INSETA learnership refers to a type of work-based learning program that is offered by the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) in South Africa. The learnership program is designed to provide learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to excel in the insurance industry.

The program combines both classroom-based learning and on-the-job training, with learners being placed in various insurance companies to gain practical experience. Learners are required to complete a set of theoretical and practical modules, assessments, and workplace assignments during the program, and upon successful completion, they are awarded a nationally recognized qualification in the insurance industry.

INSETA learnerships are open to South African citizens who are between the ages of 18 and 35 and have a minimum of a Grade 12 certificate. The learnership program covers a range of disciplines within the insurance industry, including underwriting, claims handling, risk management, and financial planning.
